Max and Ruby Background Bio

You might ask who are theseMax and Ruby Dolls These loveable bunnies were first introduced to TV audiences in 2001. Based on the popular book series developed by children’s book author and illustrator Rosemary Wells, Max and Ruby is a story about a rambunctious and determined 3-year-old bunny, and his big sister, Ruby, a patient, goal-oriented, sometimes restrictive 7-year-old bunny. The show presents an uplifting message for its audience by showing Max and Ruby playing together and exercising respect and love in resolving their conflicts.

TV Series Characters

In the show there are a total of ten characters, each with their own zany personality.

Max
A three-year-old bunny and brother of Ruby. He usually says just one word per episode--repeatedly--such as "Puff." Usually if Ruby is involved in something Max wants to be part of it. In season 4 his voice is a little different. He wears overalls with a striped shirt and doesn't like suits; Ruby made up a story since she thought Max was "picky" about Emperor Max and Ruby the Taylor.

Ruby
A seven year old bunny and sister to Max. Ruby is very bossy usally telling Max what to do like drink his juice before his bath. She wears a yellow and purple dress in season 1 and 2 but for the remainder of the series she'll probaly wear the pink spring dress. Her voice is a little different season to season. She loves her toys and believes she is a "princess" since in one episode she said she was a princess going to the ball but was probaly just playing. This caused her to make up a story about how Queen Grandma and Prince Max try to find out if Princess Ruby is actually a princess.

Grandma
A grandmother to Max and Ruby, she lives quite near to them. She likes to have fun and has an attic full of clothes. She wears a blue dress and may live alone.

Louise
Ruby's friend, she is mostly a main character. She likes to have fun and has a younger cousin named Morris. She is red and wears a green dress. Her catchphrase is "Little Brothers."

Vallery
Another friend of Ruby's, she wears a red and gold dress. She is the only friend of Ruby's who wears glasses and makes semi-frequent appearance

Martha
Another friend of Ruby's who is seen very rarely. Martha is lighter in color than Vallery.

The Huffingtons
A family who are unnamed. There is Mrs. Huffingtton, her husband and Baby Huffington. Baby Huffington likes to have fun and to put him to sleep you have to use a cuckoo clock.

The Piazzas
A family who work at the Market consisting of Roger and Mr.Piazza. Roger is almost like Max and usually just says "Aha" and "Uh Uh". Roger is into football and basketball (and somewhat cars). Louise and Ruby may like him.

Bunny Scouts
A parody of girl scouts who sell brownies. There is a bunny scout leader who likes everthing. Some known scouts are Ruby, Louise, Martha, and Valarie.

Froggy
A frog that lives near a creek. He is good friends with Max and Ruby(somewhat). In one episode Ruby wouldn't let Max take him home since there were going to have a tea party and Ruby believed Grandma wouldn't like frogs. In Season 4 he was replaced by Hoppy a grasshopper but this is unknown
